The various registries at DIFC are created pursuant to decrees issued by the President of the DIFC and administered through the DIFC Authority. The Companies and Security Registries, operating pursuant to Companies Law, DIFC Law (No. 3 of 2006) and Security Law (No. 8 of 2005), are staffed by Dean Ferris, incumbent Registrar of both Registries, and a number of support staff. 

The Registrar of Real Property will be named when the DIFC Real Property Law is enacted, expected by the middle of this year.

The role of the Registrar/Registries is to receive from the public and record, documents and instruments evidencing the establishment in the DIFC of legal entities, perfected security instruments and, eventually land and related titles, interests and restrictions.
